  2. Day 2
Etosha National Park App. 5 – 6 Hours Drive On Tar Road

After breakfast and a short city tour, we depart leisurely to the world-renowned Etosha National Park. The Etosha Experience: Africa’s largest salt pan forms the centerpiece to Namibia’s largest protected wildlife reserve. A chain of natural springs have become the catalyst for the daily species interaction which has thrilled and fascinated visitors since 1907. The park is justifiably famed for the wealth of wildlife that congregate at its dozens of waterholes, offering ample reward for those who are patient.

Plains game such as zebra, kudu, oryx, wildebeest, giraffe, springbok, impala and eland abound in great numbers on the grasslands while large herds of elephants are common. Lions dominate the predator food chain and make good use of the waterholes as hunting grounds whilst he black-backed jackal trot around oblivious to humans.

This is the place to watch Namibia’s greatest daily wildlife dramas unfold.

2-3* Overnight at Okaukuejo Camp or similar with breakfast, light lunch & dinner included.

  3. Day 3 & 4
Swakopmund & Walvis Bay – App. 5 – 6 Hours On Tar Road

After breakfast our tour heads westwards to the coast. In Swakopmund the visit of the sea front, the aquarium and the Swakopmund Museum is worthwhile, during your leisure time. There are numerous boulevards and a large traditional street market where you can buy souvenirs.

In close vicinity of Swakopmund (and Walvis Bay which is located 30 km south of Swakopmund) a lot of activities can be done, amongst other things boat tours with a seal whisperer, exciting desert tours (”The desert is alive”), quad bike safaris, kayaking tours and much more.

On Day 4 we undertake AM Boat Cruise & 4×4 Sandwich Harbour Tour

2* Overnight at Kali Guesthouse or similar with breakfast, light lunch & dinner included.

Welcome to Swakopmund – Swakop is Namibia’s leading adrenaline destination, with a wide range of activities to suit all ages and (most) egos.

The area of Namib Desert around Swakopmund is named the West Coast Recreational Area. And recreation is the town’s number one draw card. There are countless pursuits to help you spend your time, and money. For those interested in adventure activities Swakopmund offers sandboarding, quad biking, dune carting, parachuting, hot air ballooning, shark fishing, deep sea fishing and beach angling to name but a few.

For the more sedentary there are restaurants, cafes, art galleries, the Swakopmund Museum, a snake park and aquarium.

The town’s most iconic symbol is the Swakopmund jetty, initially used as mooring forships it later became a popular are for anglers and walkers, it has fallen into disrepair on numerous occasions and has been subject to several attempts to rescue it from complete dereliction. Recently large scale work has been completed on the jetty which now proudly boasts a small restaurant and bar area.

The Welwitschia drive is an interesting way to spend a few hours and introduces you to some of the fauna and flora of the Namib Desert. Bird lovers can pay a visit to the

Swakopmund Salt Works or the Walvis Bay Lagoon, which in season is frequented bythousands of flamingos.

    Welcome to Walvis Bay

Walvis Bay (vahl-fis bay), 30km south of Swakopmund, is pleasant enough, particularly around the new waterfront development and along the esplanade. The town proper is not so compact and your own wheels make life a lot easier. It’s a good alternative to

staying in Swakopmund if that city is too much of a scene for you – Walvis Bay has a far more relaxed feel to it. And the accommodation options and food choices are excellent.

Unlike Swakopmund, Walvis Bay was snatched by the British years before the German colonists could get their hands on it.

As a result, Walvis Bay is architecturally uninspiring, and lacks the Old World ambience of its northerly neighbour. In marked contrast, the area around Walvis Bay is home to a number of unique natural attractions, including one of the largest flocks of flamingos in the whole of Southern Africa.

The only real port between Lüderitz and Luanda (Angola), the natural harbour at Walvis Bay is the result of the sand spit Pelican Point, which forms a natural breakwater and shelters the city from the strong ocean surge.

  4. Day 5
    WINDHOEK

Enjoy breakfast, depending on you flights’ departrure time; we enjoy a leisurely drive back to Windhoek. Time permitting explore the city on foot and/or buy souvenirs / gift for friends and family back home.

Drop off at Windhoek International Airport, in time for your flight back home.
